DOBT Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the Department of Better Technology's products, such as Screendoor, and its websites.

Your use of DOBT is subject to the terms of its Privacy Policy.

DOBT takes the responsibility of handling your information very seriously. DOBT is committed to using the information it receives to improve its Service and enhance your experience. This Privacy Policy describes DOBT’s policies and procedures on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information.

When using DOBT’s Service you consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure, and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. Irrespective of which country that you reside in or create information from, your information may be used by DOBT in the United States.

1. Information Collection and Usage

1.1 We collect the e-mail addresses of those who register for DOBT accounts, information about those who request information from us, aggregate information on what pages our users access, and information volunteered by our users (such as survey information). The information we collect is used to improve the quality of our Service.

1.2 When you register for a DOBT account we ask for information such as your name, company name, email address, billing address, credit card information. Members who sign up for a free trial are not required to enter a credit card.

1.3 DOBT uses collected information for the following general purposes: products and services provision, billing, identification and authentication, services improvement, contact, and research.

2. Sharing Information

2.1 Your information is not shared with or sold to other organizations for commercial purposes, except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:

A. It is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Terms of Service, or as otherwise required by law.

B. We will transfer information about you if Department of Better Technology, Inc or DOBT is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, DOBT will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

3. Cookies

3.1 A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site’s computers and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies are required to use the DOBT Service.

3.2 We use cookies to record current session information, but do not use permanent cookies.

3.3 You are required to log-in to your DOBT account after a certain period of time has elapsed to protect you against others accidentally accessing your account contents.

4. Data Storage

4.1 DOBT uses third party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run DOBT.

4.2 Although DOBT owns the code, databases, and all rights to the DOBT application, you retain all rights to your data.

5. Disclosure

5.1 DOBT may disclose personally identifiable information under only special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas or when your actions violate the Terms of Service. Please review the Terms of Service.

6. Changes

6.1 DOBT may periodically update this policy. You are encouraged to review the most current version of the Privacy Policy at any time.

6.2 If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you by sending a notice to the email address specified in your DOBT account or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
